CASE STUDY:
ADP ARCHITECTS
Elevating a Storied Architecture Firm’s Brand & Digital Presence

Repositioning a Legacy Brand for Modern Growth

Acheson Doyle Partners Architects (ADP), a New York-based firm known for its expertise in historic preservation and institutional work, turned to UpSpring to better align its visual identity and website with the caliber of work it delivers. The goal: evolve the identity to feel more current and approachable, and develop a website that could support long-term marketing and business development efforts.

We began with a strategic brand development phase, collaborating closely with ADP’s leadership to define a direction that balanced legacy with modernity. While the team was open to exploration, preserving the firm’s heritage was essential—this was a case of evolution, not revolution.

The logo development was especially personalized. With ADP’s strong interest in typographic meaning, we conducted an in-depth exploration of historical styles, testing nearly 20 typefaces to find the right fit. The final logotype—a custom serif with modern, sans-serif influences—feels both rooted and forward-looking.

Through iterative creative development, we established a brand system that feels clean, confident, and timeless. A refreshed wordmark and a vibrant yet understated color palette brought new energy to the brand while maintaining its architectural character.

With the branding in place, we transitioned into the website redesign. Thanks to the alignment established during branding, the site build stayed on schedule and on strategy. Each page was developed with SEO best practices—including targeted keywords, optimized meta descriptions, and accessible UX. We ensured intuitive navigation and built in clear calls-to-action to guide users.

Translating Strategy into a Seamless Digital Experience

ADP’s new brand and website now reflect the depth and expertise behind their portfolio. The refreshed identity gives their team stronger tools for communication across digital platforms, proposals, and marketing materials, while the website serves as a polished and professional extension of the brand.

This project demonstrates the power of strategic collaboration. ADP brought vision and expertise; UpSpring provided the process, creative guidance, and marketing insight to bring that vision to life. For architecture and design firms seeking branding or website support, it’s a strong example of how intentional design can drive long-term growth.

The various capabilities within the UpSpring team—technical web design, graphic design, content development, marketing and account management—were very well-integrated and the output across disciplines was seamless. [...] We were very happy with UpSpring and would recommend this agency to any A&E firm ready to catapult to the next level in their marketing efforts.”
